White Paper on the ATV Mission Lab for Regenerative Building

Gain insight into the “ATV Mission Lab for Regenerative Building” project through this white paper, which documents the process and research on the topic of “regenerative building.”

The white paper compiles the most important insights, experiences, and perspectives from nearly a year and a half of work spanning research, practice, and the stakeholders shaping the industry today. This publication builds upon four printed newsletters and a guide from the Academy of Technical Sciences, which together have documented and elaborated on the Mission Lab’s work.

The white paper maps the connections between technical, economic, and systemic factors and explores the dilemmas and opportunities that arise when ambitions for regenerative building meet the industry. The white paper serves as a knowledge base and a guide forward. It is intended as a tool for everyone who wish to continue working with - and contribute to - the movement toward regenerative building that is already underway.

In this publication, you will meet researchers, practitioners, pioneers, activists, and leaders who, from various positions, are working to develop the industry. We have compiled participant contributions, tools, and outputs; the ATV Guide’s recommendations and pathways; a section on definitions; and concluding reflections and perspectives.

The purpose of the white paper is to establish a shared direction and create a unified foundation for future work by compiling what we know and clarifying what we are still in the process of understanding.

The white paper was published by the Aarhus Center for Regenerative Building in collaboration with NXT Bureau.
