Workshop on Future Resilient Building Systems

Time: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: Europaplads 8, 8000 Aarhus C
Language: Danish

We are opening the doors to a workshop on future resilient building systems. Join us! Registration is required.

The workshop will be conducted as an open dialogue and requires in-person attendance and prior registration.

The focus of the workshop is to bring together students, researchers, consultants, building owners/developers, contractors, and building material manufacturers to engage in a discussion about what future resilient building systems should look like.

In this workshop, resilience refers to how future regenerative building systems based on renewable materials can be designed with a focus on securing the supply of building materials and enhancing buildings’ resilience to climate change.

Due to capacity, the number of places available for participants from the various parts of the value chain is limited.

If you would like to participate in the workshop, please contact Mette Hagelquist at msh@cae.au.dk

Time: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Location: Europaplads 8, 8000 Aarhus C

We’re opening the door to dialogue with the ambassadors who are carrying on the work of Mission Lab for Regenerative Building. Come and join us!

Regenerative Dialogue: Project-based metrics for building in timber within Planetary Boundaries

Time: 10.00-12.00 AM - coffee and network from 09.30 AM

Location: Europaplads 8, 8000 Aarhus C and online

Language: English

Regenerative Dialogue: Project-based metrics for building in timber within Planetary Boundaries with Adrian Campbell from ChangeBuilding - https://www.changebuilding.com/home

Adrian will present findings from a recent collaborative research project, Using Wood Well, undertaken with The Institute of Computational Design at The University of Stuttgart and Waugh Thistlelton Architects and funded by Built by Nature.

He will explain some of the background to the work, how it is based on a ’strong sustainability’ approach and the use of the three metrics (Use to Renewal Ratio, Wood Use Intensity and Biobased %) to help designers understand sustainability in use of biobased products and timber buildings.

He will show the use of digital data visualisation tools developed for the project to explore the dataset assembled and assessed for the project.

The talk is intended to be the basis of a discussion about setting project-based metrics that demonstrate design with limits and regenerative design approaches.

Om oplægsholder: Thore Keitum Fisker forsvarede sin ph.d.-afhandling i retorik, ”The Body Politic in Motion: A critical rhetoric of moving bodies in politics and activism” på Københavns Universitet (KU) i december 2025.
